Title: “Blooming and Bursting”
Fun Fact: Did you know that strawberries aren’t true berries at all, but are actually members of the rose family?
“Blooming and Bursting” was inspired after walking my dog through a field of wild strawberries in Detroit’s Eliza Howell park during the golden glow of summer. In that moment, I remember feeling so stupidly happy to get to live in a world where strawberries grow wild and dogs run freely among them. Since these moments can sometimes seem few and far between these days, I wanted to share this one with you, in the hope that it might inspire in you some of the same joy it brought me.
Measuring 8″ x 10″ matted, “Blooming and Bursting” has been hand-drawn, carved, pressed, and colored on smooth unbleached Kitakata paper using a light-fast Black vegetable-oil based ink.
