There is a voice all around us that doesn’t use words, its tenderness can only be heard with the eyes and it resonates in our hearts, so long as we welcome it in. It calls to us loudest in those listless moments when we feel most disconnected and closed off from the world. This print, “Notebook Musings,” calls to us in that same voice, pleading that we maintain our softness despite the hardness of our days.
I felt compelled to create this print after re-reading Camus’ Notebooks, 1935-1942 as summer began. May it help you welcome patience and attentiveness into your home and your heart, as you await the arrival of tenderness. Measuring 8″ x 10″ matted, “Notebook Musings” was first sketched out onto a block of linoleum and later carved, inked, and printed onto Kitakata paper using a combination of Black light-fast vegetable-oil based inks and Light Cerulean Blue, Avocado, Blush, Spanish Orange hued archival, light-fast ink.
