Fun Fact: First lit in 1849, Whitefish Point Lighthouse in Paradise, MI was one of the first lighthouses to dot Lake Superior’s shores. It remains the oldest active light on the lake, and every vessel entering or leaving Lake Superior must pass it. As more vessels have been lost in Whitefish Point than any other area of Lake Superior, it’s certainly earned its name as the “Graveyard of the Great Lakes.”
