First founded as Excelsior District #2 in 1880, the Lewis School was re-built in 1905, in operation ’til 1960, and rescued in 2020.
In 2022, we incorporated the schoolhouse as a non-profit with aims of reestablishing it as a local hub of learning, growing, creating, and connecting. While we’ve really only just begun, it’s safe to say we’re well on our way there thanks to the likes of so many of you.
In 2023, we warmly welcomed over 200 new pupils to the schoolhouse and surrounding tree farm as volunteers, visitors, walkers, cider-makers, foragers, entertainers, partners, collaborators, campers, and guides. .
With your help, we look forward to increasing the number of gatherers and gatherings in the coming year. If you’d like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you!
